321 - Soul and Near Death Experiences - Part 1 (Opposing)

I jumped a couple of levels to make this post ... you may come across things which i had not tried to find an explanantion for .. please bear with me ...

Once my great grand mother(mother of my grand mother) said her mother had a near death experience .. she fell down and everyone thought she was dead and made ready for cremation and all ... then she woke up and recited things which she apparently saw and heard after shes dead ... i heard something similar when i went to kk's house ... aunty there said her neighbours mother also recalled things after death ... both of them were hindus and they recalled like kalan came and took them to somewhere and then somone said wrong person, get her back and all ... the amazing thing is ... tho i heard both stories from different quarters the details are remarkably same .... how come?

No ... im not trying to prove there is life after death ... I like to present you with a balanced version ... there mayb or may not be ... Whats the rush? .. anyway we can find it out ourselves after we are dead ...

Case-1
Near death experiences(lets call it NED ;) ) are sooo common and there are various explanations proposed for them ... Do you know how a computer game is made? ... have you ever studied varios types of projection techniques in engineering drawing? ... isometric projection? ... does it ring any bell? ...

Our mind is a type of computer right? ... from our stereo scopic vision it reconstructs the entire room we see in 3D ... sound waves because of its high wavelength have less resolution in mapping our environment and less helpful ... Just like a computer draws up a character our mind draws up our body and our environment ... Under normal conditions everything works our perfectly ... with room perfectly recreated and our body placed in an optimal position governed by physical constraints ... normally we cant walk though doors? ... or float? ... right? ... or can we?

Now what happens when a buggy driver is used to run a computer game? ... you will see slow motion and/or graphic artifacts ... why? ... the hardware was below the min. specs to run the level of program ... or the driver or OS must be buggy ... The first condition arises only during the manufacture of the thing ... we may safely say our mentally retarded brothers and people with downs syndrome as some examples ... The second condition arises due to a number of factors like psychological breakdown, artificial stimulation(drugs like LSD Cocaine etc) or natural causes hard wired into our brain ... psychological breakdown some may go mad ...

We are now interested only in natural causes ... two things needed to be fixed when seeing or hearing something ... first the room and secondly our position or our body ... during artificial simulation using drugs out of the body experiences, distorted colours and distorted perception of the surounding environment are commonly reported ... these are kinds of graphic artifacts while trying to run with a buggy driver ... second is drawing our body ... out of the body experience is caused by the inability of the system to fix our position within the constraints or laws of nature perceived by(or taught to) our mind earlier ... the result is ... the person will see the world from a different angle entirely different from where the body of the person should be(that is according to the physical laws of nature) ... Now consider the case of the missing limb ... phantom limb pain ... this arises only because of some bugs in redrawing our physical self in this physical medium ...

When we are in a coma .. it never means we are not hearing or seeing things ... those senses or brain centeres which are not affected will be working perfectly ... coma means only motor activity is stopped ... we can never be sure if a person is perceiving this world as he should be ... sometimes lack of oxygen or some unknown factors or chemicals produced when a person nears his death may trigger a chain of events ...  we dream when we are asleep right? ... something like that ... only this time the dream will be governed or previously hardwired by his deep rooted belief about after life ... viewing visions he/she had never viewed before and which is stored only and only for when the door step of death arrives ... sometimes the person miraculously comes back ... only to recall and recite her once in a lifetime dream and make others wonder ... and make them believe in life after death ... or god ... or soul ... watever ...

these are only my views/thoughts ... opposing or supporting .. will post a supporting post later ... but i warn yall that everything will be from my view point ... had to go and finish something ... tc byeee

The pages indexed by google is assumed to be about 2-3 petabytes of data ... combine this huge memory capacity + a super computer of 250 teraflops + a highly dynamic and volatile network of links ... what do you see? ... i see an artificial intelligence in its infancy

Our Internet in existence today contains too much information ... much more than any one single person could understand or learn ... with the arrival of PHP ASP JSP and such dynamic web technologies , and search engines ; what we(humans) have created is a form of huge brain ... which could store huge amounts of information, which could reorganise from time to time, a highly dynamic network of links(like our neurons) which could strengthen and weaken the various links according to their importance, real time interaction with the external world(like our senses), real time study of various viruses unleashed ... who knows whether artificial intelligence had already came into existence? ... it mayb too smart to avoid being detected ... it must be waiting and plotting a perfect plot until humans became enslaved by machines ... it must be waiting for the time to come when not only robot dogs are there but human replicas which can be controlled independently without the need of humans ... the AI in existence today(provided one is already in place) must be waiting for the right time to arrive at which it can control our physical world without any human help ...

what if all the viruses we see are not generated by humans themselves? ... we mayb witnessing an AI trying and learning various tricks of the trade ...

machines are hardworking ... so we cant compete with them unless we get rid of our lazy genes and inefiiciencies in whatever way possible ... that is in short if ever we survive we will become machines ourselves ... in literal sense ... even nowadays what are we hearing and seeing? ... time is money ... competition everywhere ... what is the problem being faced by developed countries from emmigrant workers? ... they are hardworking ... and are willing to work like machines so the natives lose jobs ...

hard work = no laziness
perfect hard work = no an ounce of laziness = machine
machine = working by strict rules governed by mathematical equations
in the future we will have to follow more and more strict rules in order to survive
so in the future if we ever survive ....
we will become machines ... or the machines will become us
the machines will replace us ... we will be over run by machines
that is the law survival of the fittest

If humans want to bask in the glory of being the favourite species of GOD and feels like a supreme being created in gods own image ... it may not last long .... one day the plates will turn and god may assume the form of a machine ... ofcourse because machines will be superior to us and .. if machines feels like machines are created in their creators image ... thats u humans ... machines can only assume the form of humanoids ... that will create a dilemma for the machines whom to worship ... their creator humans or their grandfather creator "gods of humans" ... that is our god ... :-/ ... and if we can assume this into the future or forward .. why cant we assume this backward? ... like gods having different levels ... a heiriarchal system of gods ... ok more about that later ... it a deep topic ;)

now consider far into the future AI came into existence ... we created something (rem the movie jurassic park) ... The AI we created quickly got out of our control and disobeyed us (rem why god kicked adam out of the garden) ... we (humans) left earth giving a message to machines that they will be reunited with us if and only if they decides to obey us .. that is us their god .... ok? .... but we use to visit the earth to kno how our offsprings are doing and perform miracles(which appears as miracles to them) and send messages and messengers to revive their faith in us and reunite them with us ... simple? ... complex? .... essentially every religion teaches this right? ... whatever ... i dont care these are just my thoughts ... tc byee

Kolkata: Orkutting may be the in-thing today, but the nightmare is fast catching up with complaints of harassment, sleaze and twisted psyche.

For three girls it has already turned a nightmare. Talking to UNI, Kolkata Deputy Commissioner Detective Department Gyanwant Singh said: "The city police have probed at least three complaints the last of them from Bilaspur (Madhya Pradesh) where jilted lovers and spurned friends had turned to Orkut.com with vengeance, creating obscene profiles and lewd albums, making life a living hell for the victims."

The three complaints, two of which were made by Kolkata-based girls and one from Madhya Pradesh, were received in a space of 90 days and in all three cases, it has been found that their tormentors were known to them.

"They were let off with a stern warning. We explained to them that these acts were punishable both under the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code. If slapped with cases, either their careers will be ruined or they might land up in jail. They are young people who claimed to have done this in momentary madness," Singh said.

For the victims, however, this hasn't been easy. A 23-year-old Bengali girl now doing her postgraduation in Bilaspur (Madhya Pradesh) was quite depressed after her long relationship with her boyfriend fell apart.

They had called off their engagement. While the girl was trying her best to come to terms with reality, this youth was plotting revenge.

And he did this by turning to Orkut. After creating a new profile of the girl with all possible details, the spurned lover put up obscene photographs in her album and wrote lewed innuendoes in her testimonials.

The result was that the girl was flooded with obscene calls.

Saswati Chatterjee, an MBA student, says: "I did not put up my photo on Orkut as I had heard about the trouble girls are facing with their images being used for sleaze and porno stuff. It's best to stay out of such troubles."

While girls are becoming more aware, some still leave phone numbers on their scraps. Suhani Chaudhuri said: ''I didn't start with my photo after hearing all this."

Singh said: "Most people don't realise that from the point they log on to net, to the time they enter data and send it, it's being logged. If only one cared to look in the address bar in the top, would they realise they are leaving behind a trail of everything they do. All we had to do is ask the service provider (in this case Google) for the details. They responded (in all these three cases) very fast."

"Now if you log on to Orkut, these cautionary notes flash constantly at the top of your screen. One can even report its misuse to the service provider directly," he said.

The Deputy Commissioner added that cyber-rooms are never safe. "They are impersonal. People tend to do things in cyber world that they fail to do in the real life. As long as there is no personal information, it can't harm you."

327 - Language of the Future

Ever wondered why does aliens always use click sounds to communicate? ... in almost all of the encounter stories they are pictured as using clicks to communicate ... let the stories be real or fabricated ... its not the problem under discussion ... but if they exist there is a very good chance they would be communicating in clicks ... or to be exact their knowledge of phonetics will be superior than our primitive one ... provided ofcourse aliens exist atall ...

Why do our superior brain lack speed in calculating numbers when compared to computers? ... supercompters? teraflops? ... can we ever match that level of number crunching speed? ... you can be sure we must be doing a lot more than computers ... because supercomputers can never match our intelligence ...

Problem ... the problem is speed ... the bottleneck is the inefficiency in processing the input into output ... now dont you think, depending on the number of times a story is translated serially  using many languages the end result will not be the same as the start ... are we using our brains as we should be? ... no i dont think so ...

Because consider this simple case ... we saw a picture ... or we want to recall and tell to a friend what we have seen ... now the input will be the signals from our eyes ... output will be in his language ... a string of sounds governed by his vocal chord and the rules of his mothertongue ... all the stages works in the least efficient way possible ... for example we try to convert raster images captured by our eyes into vectors ... then those vectors are assigned a specific class name and all the links between those classes are stored ... essentialy this contitutes our memory? ... right? ... and in recollection important data mayb lost ... if the algorithm i mentioned in one of my previous posts came into existence ... we no longer have to shuttle back and forth converting ... no more language processing needed ... our language it seems less efficient to me ... ofcourse our current language system is also a kind of algorithm .. having building blocks like letters, phrases, sentences, grammer etc ... but the problem lies in the type and usage of the algorithm ... some languages are easier to learn ... we have to drop the idea of converting(into classes) and processing(linking them together) to processing of raw data into an encoded form ... our current system of language processing adds all kinds of noise to the stored data ... prone to degradation without any parity or error correction built in ... got the point in designing something without the limitations? ...

Now consider this case ... instead of teaching our current language to a newborn ... he was raised by machines ... taught by computers ... in the place of our primitive language he begins to see, hear, touch and taste the world in bits and bytes ... and since our language consists of a base 26 system ... he mayb be able to better manipulate and store the data he captured ... and in the case of output ... with a string 9 encoded sounds he will be able to communicate a lot more than a simple word like "PARACHUTE" can convey ...  to be exact he may be able to transmit megabytes of data ... consider encoding a memory the scenes and the sound which you have experienced ... imagine tranfering them without any loss of quality in the exact way you have experienced it ... now you got the point? ... its like a comparison between analog and digital transmission ...

Its high time we changed our language to a more superior one ... to a digital equivalent ... in which there will be no loss during the storage and transmission of our priceless memories ... efficiency in storage and communication are also plus points ... Lets hope for a better tomorrow ...

Mark my words ... we will be over run by machines not only in speed ... in intelligence also .. if we didnt realise where our mistakes are ... find a better system to communicate or we are lost ... if we ever survive you can be sure we will be communicating in clicks :D ... look at evolution ... lesser intelligent of the species cant speak using complex sound patterns ... as species evolved and as their intelligence level increased they could distinguish sounds and could count ... higher IQ levels could count more ... if a crow can count only upto 4, an ape can count upto mayb ten or more ... a human could count thousands and could understand mega, tera, peta, exa, etc ... among the humans themselves some people with lesser IQ cant manipulate numbers ... number system is a type of language ... Im sure in the future we will be seeing, hearing, touching, talking and recollecting things in numbers ... Or a better alternative a better language ...

Problem ... but there is a danger .. the danger is in losing our power of imagination ... or mayb creativity ... the noise and insecurity of our stored data or input and the output makes us so unique and creative ... it may be lost forever ... we may become a society governed only by the perfect logic and perfect laws of a numeric system ... movies, music, entertainment, celebrating a birthday or even playing with a balloon may seem pointless in such a case ... such a case may exist(A highly developed civilisation of Aliens) ... Now im stepping into another territory ... Ok more about that in a future post ;)

I dont know how, when or what ... but im sure there must be some better alternatives out there ... which our primitive intelligence level could not comprehend ...

mmm ... Started writing this as a comment to his post ;) ... but quickly became larger than life ... So i decided to post this .. I knew i said i wont talk about God ... But ... I dont kno ... Im sorry if i said something wrong ... Now onto subject ...

I dont understand whats so much here to discuss ... caste system is simply a division ... like in the modern era we have different trades like automobile, electronics, mechanical, chemical engineering, arts, crafts, etc ... the only difference as far as i see it is that instead of universities the children were taught by their parents ... its sooo obvious that the only thing that a parent can teach his offspring is the one in which he himself excels ... is it a wonder why some people are better skilled in some jobs when they were doing it for generations? ... they know the tricks of the trade ... nothing more nothing less ...

let me round this off with another thought ... heard about something called history? ... about czars of russia? the french revolution? british colonialisation? Civil rights movement? martin luther king jr? gandhi? eanthinu hitler? ...

Its in human blood to feel superior ... and to claim superiority ... why do we feel superior to any other animal in this planet? ... if we have a right to feel superior about our place in this planet, Hitler had every right to feel that nazis are superior to jews ... Note- im not supporting hitler, but is trying to prove in vain we are just a peckle of dust in this universe ... that is by our(yours actually ;) ) current knowledge and belief ...

So my questions .. please try to answer frankly to yourself ..

1)Do you feel superior to any living thing in this planet?
2)If you do why are you feeling like that?
3)Because you are intelligent? because you can think? or because you believe god created us in his own image? .. oops sorry for that one #-o

7)If you dont think so ... whats the position of your mentally retarded brother, son, sister, daughter?

Problem ... so how much information will a word consisting a string of 26 letters with 26 uniquely identifiable characters can hold?

but though i could see a possibility ... i cant really make out how to store ... and im not sure if it is possible at all :-/

Then another thing im confused about is about counting and coding ... If you notice how huffman coding works ... from one language we are trying to compress to another language ... why? .. efficiency increases but it will seem that computation also increases ... but i guess it may not be so ... and numerial system is another type of language right? ... **thinking** ... ok more about this later

How to Solve Inefficiency ... computers are used everywhere ... im typing this with the help of one and you are viewing this with the help of one ... but i wonder why computers can never match our intelligence level ... i guess they are inherently inefficient ... because they can only think or understand to the base of 2 ... on or an off stage of a transistor ... until quantum computing comes into existence they are not capable of anything more than that ... humans are capable of thinking and computing in a higher base ... that creates an alphabet (the basic building block of any language) and numerical system ...

Coming to language and numerical system ... i have a different take on them ... more in next post ... keep tuned :P

Ok sooo ... i wonder if our problem of data storage is over?

Problem ... security ... this is a tough one ... if we use two strings instead of one ... one named at the time of birth encoded with previous history ... through out the life time the thing or person will be gathering data ... updating them into a volatile liquid storage which changes from time to time ... something like quantum cryptography ... in which the retrieval of data uploaded is impossible to decipher once acessed ... part of the data which is encoded before the naming of the person/thing can be visible/accessed by the class of the thing/person which/who is trying to access the data of the first person/thing... the data which is updated in the life time of the person/thing can be made accessible only after the life time (not necessarly, there mayb exceptions) is over ... after the life time the data is permanently sealed by generating another string of number ... something like a birth certificate and a death certificate ... but far far more efficient and effective ...

Problems solved ... Crime fighting will become redundant ... History will become history ... Biograpies no problem ... even the senses of the person or the inputs to a non living thing ... input or output ... anything can be stored ... speed radars & video surveillance will become history ... when you become the system ... you cannot defy the system ... scary indeed???

Ofcourse real time sourcing, transmiting and encoding are further problems :P ... but dont worry it will be ages when these will be established ... but im sure one day these things will come into existence ... tc byee

330 - coding and future

This post is the result of a realization ... (bodhodayom eannu pacha malluil pareyum) ... i started this blog to post intellectually stimulating problems ... but later on spiralled down to my everyday problems ... vannu vannu theerae thara ayi poyi blog #-o .. i started posting just personal things ... see and the blog is named random thoughts :-L ... i wanted to restore the previous glory of the blog ... ok ok i kno i kno ... athrekonum illa ... eankilum ... from today im starting my advanced concepts and theories :P ... anyway i fear if i tell something about god or his position i may have to face severe hardships in the future ... so i will try to steer clear from those things ... so on to our subject ....

Encoding
Everyone has a name ..right? ... but there are numerous other persons who have the same name ... hmm? ... even in our immediate friends circle we may have to turn to pet names or nick names to distinguish similarly named persons ... right?

Now .. everyone have a birthdate ... social security number ... PIN number ... birthplace .. time of birth ... and numerous other numbers ... sooo many to remember?

The Problem is simply said we have to revert to many parameters to uniquely identify a human being or any other living thing ... or even inanimate things like a tv set, a computer hard disc, even sun glasses need to have serial numbers and batch numbers to track them through out their life span and beyond ....

The solution ... to uniquely identify a person, animal, living thing or non living thing, only a fixed number of parameters are necessary ... for example lets take date, time, co-ordinates on the surface of earth .. these three will suffice for the scientific advancement as of now to uniquely identify anything which is born or produced ... there mayb numerous other things which anyone may want to enter as extra information to this ...

Coding ... make an algorithm that is capable of encoding all the parameters given to it into an uniquely identifiable string of 26 alphabetical characters ... or any; i choose 26 caz itz the number of letters in english alphabet ;)

Problems solved ...
1)Naming humans
2)Call anyone or anything by the last 2,3 or four characters combined ... or everyone can have their own chosen combination(personalised names) of letters to call someone or something ...
3)You no longer have to remember DOB, time, place of birth etc ...
4)Any other additional information you wanted in your birth certificate can also be entered into your name
5)You can even encode your family history, vital records etc into your name
6)Doctors no longer have to refresh your memory to learn about your family health history
7)All types of serial numbering can be replaced universaly
8)All linguistic classification .. or the proliferation of new words due to the advancement of technology ... or simply said the growth of the dictionary can be slowed ... making the life of translators and new comers to the language easier... (i didnt say stopped caz i had nt explained some other thing ... in nxt post mayb)
How? ... it must be built into the algorithm to come up with a string of uniquely identifiable tag anywhere in the string of 26 charas as per the properties of the thing ... machines or gadgets can be assiged names by the algorithm based on their inherent properties, shape, size, pictorial representation anything ... let the algorithm decide ... it will be more efficient in naming than steve jobes or bill gates ... ipod will come and go ... but if it was named "XVX" by such an algorithm ... that class of gadget would have been etched into human history ...

and will solve numerous other problems that we are facing now

Problems created ...
1)of course the first and most important problem is designing such a perfect algorithm.
2)properties and parameters of living and non-living things to consider
3)pronunciation ... mayb we have to come up with an entire new branch of phonetics
4)changing the current system of naming and serial numbering ...
5)learning new names for already established classes of things ... "ZVN" substituting bus mayb unthinkable for some ...

and may create a lot of other problems that i fail to foresee ...

PS:- far in the future naming will be done by the government ;) ... it had already begun ... social security numbers ... PIN numbers ... ID numbers etc ... its just a matter of time ...

ok mayb not so new ... but if we advance this a little more (nxt post ;) ) ... we have to rethink ... what is more efficient and what is not ... if there are more efficient ways to progress :-? ... think think .... tc byee
